Google search helps dig up malware

A little-known capability in Google Inc.'s search engine has helped security vendor Websense uncover thousands of malicious Web sites as well as several legitimate sites that have been hacked, the company said Friday.

By taking advantage Google's binary search capability, Websense has created new software tools that can sniff out malware using the popular search engine.

Chrome extension thwarts user profiling based on typing behavior

Infosec consultant Paul Moore came up with a working solution to thwart a type of behavioral profiling. The result is a Chrome extension called Keyboard Privacy, which prevents profiling of users by the way they type by randomizing the rate at which characters reach the DOM.
