Poor web applications affect IT security

Many IT departments do not realise the impact of poorly designed web applications on the security of their enterprises, software development experts have warned.

Vulnerabilities in web applications make companies an easy target for hackers but many firms favour traditional forms of defence such as firewalls rather than developing secure code, according to Sarah Saltzman, solutions manager at Compuware.
