Phishing attacks hit all-time high

The continued rise in phishing attacks shows increasing sophistication in strategy as well as more organized efforts among online criminals, said Dave Jevans, APWG chairman. "We're a long way from the days when attacks on systems were done to show off," he said. "With the motivation today being money, that creates a different kind of attacker."

Chrome extension thwarts user profiling based on typing behavior

Infosec consultant Paul Moore came up with a working solution to thwart a type of behavioral profiling. The result is a Chrome extension called Keyboard Privacy, which prevents profiling of users by the way they type by randomizing the rate at which characters reach the DOM.
