McAfee anti virus included on MSN 8 cd-rom

McAfee Security Consumer, a division of Network Associates, announced a partnership with MSN. According to the terms, McAfee VirusScan Online is added to the MSN 8 cd-rom, which starts shipping today. In a smart move for improving security of MSN users, McAfee is offering a fully functional trial version of their anti virus software, plus McAfee SecurityCenter, a set of security tools to alert and inform users in real-time about Internet security issues.

William Kerrigan, senior VP, McAfee Security Consumer said: "We are very pleased to add our anti-virus solution to MSN 8 and provide users with the added protection they need to help them use the Internet safely and to its full potential. This collaboration is another example of the productive relationship between MSN and McAfee to develop and deliver innovative services to PC users around the world."


From MSN's side, Bob Visse, director of MSN commented: "We are strongly committed to providing a safe online environment. Making McAfee VirusScan Online a part of MSN 8 is an important component in our efforts to protect our customers and something we know is important to them."
