Check Point Software Technologies, one of the key players in the VPN and firewall markets, announced two add-ons to their SMART (Security Management Architecture) product line - SmartView Reporter and SmartView Monitor.

Carol Stone, VP of marketing at Check Point said: "Maintaining a secure, reliable and efficient network is a major challenge, and understanding the threats faced by that network at any given moment is critical. Check Point SmartView solutions extend our industry-leading SMART management to deliver unparalleled insights into security and performance activity making it very easy to maintain control over your network."

SmartView Reporter is a complete reporting system, which enables managers at every level to make intelligent decisions by delivering in-depth network security activity and event information from Check Point log data. In addition, SmartView Reporter produces a large number of pre-defined reports, which eliminates the need to create custom reports thereby saving administrative time and cost. SmartView Reporter is available with pricing starting at $2,000.

The SmartView Monitor is a VPN performance analysis solution that presents users with graphical views of end-to-end VPN tunnel performance metrics such as bandwidth, round trip time, and packet loss. It even compares actual VPN performance to service level agreements. Armed with information provided by SmartView Monitor, users can act to maximize VPN ROI, improve performance, and manage network costs.
